Vetta Alexis BSc(Hons) Psych. PGCE. Cert. Counselling. PGDip Child Art Psychotherapy. MA. MBACP. GTC.
Vetta is a trained and experienced artist and teacher, and has facilitated many creative arts workshops in Museums, Galleries and Botanic Gardens, for children, adolescents and families.
Vetta offers consultation, design, development and provision of education programmes and creative arts workshops for primary and secondary school groups, and for school holiday workshops.
Previous workshops include:
• The British Library:
Mythical Quests: story-art family workshops. Inspired by the exhibition ‘Mythical Quests’, participants in the workshop discussed aspects of the voyages of Alexander the Great, Jason and the Golden Fleece and other quest tales. We examined the structure and elements of the Quest narrative with reference to ‘The Wizard of Oz’. Each participant in the workshop then created their own Quest narrative, relating to their own life story, in visual form.
• The Chelsea Physic Garden:
Illuminated Letters in the Garden. In this workshop, held in the garden, children designed their own illuminated letters, including drawings of flowers and foliage found in the Chelsea Physic Garden.
• The Jewish Museum:
Magic Carpet, a journey to the past
• The Victoria & Albert Museum:
Amazing Doorways, a story-art workshop
• The Museum of London:
Alphabet, stories and calligraphy
• The Ragged School Museum:
Creativity with Letters
• Bruce Castle Museum:
Spirals in art & nature
Workshops may include art, craft, design, calligraphy and illumination, storytelling & storymaking. They may be inspired by museum/gallery collections and special exhibitions, and may include stories, myths and symbols from diverse cultural traditions.
